The Zero Waste Districts platform is being prepared in connection with the project proposal “Zero Waste Districts: From Kahta to Türkiye – From Zero to Zero Waste”, submitted by Kahta Municipality under the Zero Waste Grant Programme.
If selected for funding, the platform will support the sharing of technical and operational experience, practical guidance, tools and good practices generated through the Kahta zero-waste model with other municipalities.
PROJECT APPROACH
The project is structured around four core components to develop a modular zero-waste model in Kahta that can be replicated by other district municipalities.
Development and implementation of separate collection, sorting and temporary storage systems.
Awareness and practical activities involving schools, university, mosques, markets and citizens.
Development of pilot repair and reuse activities for electronics, textiles and furniture.
Practical tools, guidance, webinars and inter-municipal peer learning for other district municipalities.
PLATFORM CONTENT
If selected for funding and implemented, project content and inter-municipal knowledge-sharing functions will be progressively made available through the platform.
Technical and operational experience generated through implementation of the Kahta zero-waste model.
Practical implementation guidance and sample documents for municipalities.
Replicable tools and resources that can be adapted by other district municipalities.
Indicators related to waste collection, sorting and implementation processes.
Lessons and practical experience generated through pilot repair and reuse activities.
Webinars and peer-learning activities supporting inter-municipal exchange.
Updates on project activities, events, developments and implementation results.
